Welcome to Subterra Advisors!
Subterra Advisors was established in 2024 as a modern consulting and project execution platform for experts that are working in the emerging field of commercial carbon dioxide storage. The company is building on 30 years of the consulting and project experience of Franz Hiebert. Working with Dr. Hiebert on a project by project basis are some of the most senior and recognized sub-surface scientists and petroleum engineers currently active in research and in the practice of geological carbon storage. Over the past year, we have evaluated eight CO2 storage permit applications and related technical data on target geological systems for the insurance industry.
In 2024, the IEAGHG supported a brief review by Dr. Hiebert of recent developments regarding insurance coverage for carbon dioxide geological storage projects. This publication is available through this websites and that of the IEAGHG.
Our Founder
Franz Hiebert, Ph.D., P.G.
Dr. Hiebert, a scientist and executive with 25+ years in research, state government, and environmental consulting, specializes in carbon capture and storage, assessing geological, environmental, and CO2 leakage risks. He holds a Ph.D. in Geological Sciences from UT Austin and an A.B. from Harvard.
